History/Points of interest:

This skin depicts a W.Nr. 500 series Fw 190 D9 that was surrendered to American forces in May of 1945 at Plauen, Germany. This aircraft was produced by the Mimetall Erfurt facility as denoted by it's 3 piece MG 131 cowling (please note the bulges and flairs on the cowling typical of aircraft produced at that facility). It's actual W. Nr. is not know at this time, as it had been repainted / repaired / remarked several times. It's reasonable to assume this aircraft belonged to I./JG 6, as it is lacking a II Gruppe bar.

Uppersurfaces: RLM 82/83; with RLM 81 misted on the spine.
No black exhaust panel. Upper wings are painted RLM 83/75

Undersurfaces: Light green (sometimes called RLM 76a or "Blaugun") covers the aft portion of the wings. RLM 76 was used on the ailerons. Leading edge on the lower wings were painted RLM 75.

Fuselage: A second digit behind the black '1' has been painted out with a dark color (I decided to use a medium green...the black & white photograph I worked with as a reference led me to use this color as the tones of grey seemed to match up pretty close when I converted the skin to greyscale).
